Why was Fatimah Al-Zahra buried at night, and why did only her relatives pray over her?

Fatimah was buried at night at her own request, and Abu Bakr was not informed of her burial. The reason for this was what transpired between them concerning her demand for her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah. Abu Bakr informed her of the Prophet's hadith: "We do not bequeath; what we leave behind is charity." Umar ibn al-Khattab cited this hadith during the dispute between Ali and Al-Abbas regarding the matter of the spoils of war (fay’). Scholars have mentioned that the reason prophets do not bequeath is out of concern that their heirs might wish for their death, or that people might suspect them of worldly desires. It is narrated that Abu Bakr came to appease Fatimah until she was pleased with him before her death. As for her anger, it was due to her diligent effort concerning the matter of inheritance, which was hidden from her. The senior Companions concurred with the hadith: "We do not bequeath; what we leave behind is charity."
