How can a Muslim be among those whose sins die with them?
If a servant repents sincerely before death, Allah forgives him, for repentance expiates what came before it. Allah can forgive a believer's sins if he was not defiant in committing them, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of my Ummah are pardoned except those who commit sins openly." Indeed, the sins of one who commits sins openly do not die with him; rather, people remember him by them after his death and bear witness against him with evil. Therefore, a Muslim should beware of committing sins openly.
