What is the ruling on working in the telephone department of a commercial bank that includes usurious transactions and Islamic products, with the intention of seeking employment in an Islamic bank?

It is not permissible to work in interest-based banks, because it falls under aiding in sin and aggression, which Allah has forbidden. Working in the call center of an interest-based bank is considered assisting with usury, as callers inquire about interest-based products. The only exception to this is someone who has reached the level of legal necessity, such as someone on the brink of perishing and finding no way to feed themselves, or someone in severe distress that can only be relieved by it. Therefore, one must leave work in the bank and seek permissible employment, remembering that no soul shall die until it has received its full provision.
