How is the inheritance distributed?

The division of an inheritance begins with the disbursement of rights related to it, such as zakat (definition) and pledges, then the expenses for preparing the deceased, the settlement of their debts, and the execution of their wills within the limit of one-third. After that, the inheritance is divided among the heirs, who are of two types: those with prescribed shares (ashab al-furud), who have a fixed portion, and residuary heirs (asabah), who do not have a fixed portion.
