Is it permissible to pronounce the Basmala inwardly, without moving the lips, when slaughtering, and what is the ruling on chicken slaughtered in this manner? And does the broth of this chicken take the same ruling as the chicken itself?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on uttering the name of Allah (Tasmiyah) over the slaughtered animal. Hanbalis consider it a condition for its permissibility, while Shafi'is do not stipulate it. As for Malikis and Hanafis, they consider it a condition when one remembers and is able, but it is waived if forgotten. Uttering the Tasmiyah by heart does not suffice for uttering it verbally with the tongue according to jurists, because it is not considered a true recitation. They based this on the permissibility for a person in a state of ritual impurity (junub) or a menstruating woman to recite the Qur'an by heart without moving the tongue, and also on the fact that thinking is not considered recitation in prayer. It was mentioned that chicken broth from an unslaughtered animal (non-dhakiy) is impure and it is forbidden to consume it or anything cooked in it.
