What is the ruling on the mawlid (or mawlid), which consists of poems recited on the night of Al-Israa’ wal-Mi’raj?

The celebrations held on the night of Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj are innovations (bid'ah) and not part of Islam, for several reasons:

1. The Prophet, peace be upon him, his companions, and the Imams of Islam did not celebrate it. Had it been prescribed, they would have preceded us in doing so. Rather, it originated during the Fatimid (Ubaydiyyun) era in Egypt. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever does an action which is not in accordance with our matter (religion), will have it rejected." 2. It is not known with certainty when Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj occurred. There are multiple opinions regarding its month and day, without any authentic basis. Thus, all this celebration is an innovation introduced by people who worship Allah according to their whims.

In addition, these celebrations often include innovations, seeking help from created beings, disbelief (kufr), and excessive praise of righteous individuals, all of which are forbidden and have nothing to do with the religion of Islam.
