Why did Allah use the distant demonstrative pronoun "tilkum" (that is yours) in the verse: "And [they will be called], 'That is the Paradise inherited by you for what you used to do,'" even though the inhabitants of Paradise are already in it? And does the demonstrative refer to Allah or to the inhabitants of Paradise?

The exegetes have mentioned several reasons for the use of the demonstrative pronoun for the distant (tilkum – those) in the noble verse, including:

- An indication of the Paradise they were promised in this world.

- An indication of Paradise when seen from a distance before entering it.

- An indication of its elevated status, high rank, and great significance.

- An indication after entering it, as some dwellings will be out of sight of others.

The indication is towards Paradise, and the call is to its inhabitants.
