The aforementioned principle ("There should be no harm nor causing harm") is an authentic hadith. It is a great jurisprudential principle that encompasses many branches and is connected to financial transactions in Islam on the basis of mutual consent and the exchange of benefits without harm to anyone, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] trade [produced] by mutual consent." Islam has forbidden usury, bribery, cheating, deception, gharar (excessive uncertainty), and concealing defects, due to the harm they cause to those involved in transactions and to society, and to achieve complete justice.
