Are the three sacrifices offered by the sons on behalf of their deceased father who neither sacrificed nor made a will to do so sufficient?

If the deceased bequeathed a sacrifice on their behalf, their will must be executed from one-third of their wealth. If they did not make such a bequest, the majority of scholars hold that it is permissible and its reward reaches them. Abu al-Hasan al-Abbadi generally permitted it, as it is a charity, and charity on behalf of the deceased benefits them by consensus. Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Sacrificing on behalf of the deceased is better than giving the price of the sacrifice as charity."
