When does a Muslim say: "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, and with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as a Messenger," when following the muezzin?

The apparent meaning of the Hadith is that whoever says, after the Mu'adhdhin's Shahada: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," and then follows it with "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as a Messenger," or "And I bear witness," should do so immediately after the Mu'adhdhin says "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." This is because the conjunction "wa" (and) connects his statement to the Mu'adhdhin's statement.
