The we adhere to is that if your wife visits her family, her divorce takes effect, and you may take her back if this does not complete the triple divorce. Some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, held the view that you can permit your wife to visit her family, and no divorce takes place, but you are required to offer an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat ).
