Does a divorce occur if the wife contacts or visits her family after her husband tells her, "You are divorced if you contact or visit your family," knowing that he did not intend divorce but rather to deter her?

The fatwa we adhere to is that if your wife visits her family, her divorce takes effect, and you may take her back if this does not complete the triple divorce. Some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, held the view that you can permit your wife to visit her family, and no divorce takes place, but you are required to offer an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin).
