1 min readAlso available in العربية

Whoever catches the last tashahhud with the Imam does not attain the reward of congregational prayer, but his imamate for others is valid, and he should repeat the prayer in a congregation. He should not offer salutations to his Imam or to anyone on his left. He should stand up with a takbir after the Imam's salam, and the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) that is due upon his Imam is not prescribed for him.
