Does reading the Quran benefit the deceased, and is it permissible to dedicate its reward to the Prophet and his Companions?

The answer regarding the arrival of Quran recitation and other acts of obedience to the deceased has been given previously. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is in no need of having acts of obedience dedicated to him. It is more befitting for a Muslim to frequently invoke blessings and peace upon him.
