What is the ruling on subscribing to the Middle East Specialized Cables Co. (MESC)?

The activity of Middle East Specialized Cables Co. (MESC) is permissible, but it deals with usurious loans, which makes it a mixed company. Most contemporary scholars have deemed it impermissible to invest in such companies. Scholars from the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas and the Fiqh Academy have issued fatwas to this effect. Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Osaimi affirmed the impermissibility of subscribing to it due to its clear dealings with usurious loans and overdrafts in a usurious manner.
