What is obligatory in purifying (prostatic fluid) is to wash only the part of the body that has been defiled. It is sufficient to sprinkle water on any clothing that it might have touched. As for washing the penis and testicles, it is considered (recommended) according to the most authoritative opinion. The emission of madhy should not be considered certain unless there is absolute conviction. If one doubts whether a part of the body or clothing has been defiled, the default ruling is that it is pure.
