Who said the two verses: "Nothing is dearer to a vile person, if a noble one is reviled, than a response; abandoning the vile person without a response is harder on them than insults"?

These two verses, and the verses by Salim bin Maymun Al-Khawwas, confirm that not responding to insults from a vile person is more severe for him than the insult itself. The truth of this is found in the Holy Quran, in His (Allah's) saying: "And turn away from the ignorant," and His saying, praising the believers: "And when the ignorant address them, they say, 'Peace.'"
