Should a young man marry to overcome masturbation, thereby missing the opportunity to complete his higher education abroad for religious and worldly benefits, or should he be patient and complete his studies then marry?

If marriage becomes a necessary means to abstain from the forbidden act of masturbation, then one must hasten to it. The jurists have agreed upon the emphasized nature of marriage for one whose soul yearns for it and fears falling into sin (al-anat), with some considering it obligatory under these two conditions. Accordingly, marriage is given precedence to safeguard one's religion from forbidden acts, and Allah may grant success in studies to one who embarks on marriage with the intention of achieving chastity.
