Is the wage earned from unauthorized work for the authorities lawful or unlawful?

It is not permissible to work without authorization from the state, or in violation of its laws, if these laws do not contradict Sharia and achieve a public benefit. This is because doing so involves a breach of covenant and a violation of binding laws. However, benefiting from the wage is permissible as long as the work itself is lawful. It is important to note that it is not permissible for a Muslim to reside in disbelieving lands if they are unable to perform their religious rites or fear temptation for themselves.
