Whoever swore an oath to abandon masturbation and then did it, must offer an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin). This consists of: feeding ten poor persons, or clothing them, or emancipating a believing slave. These options are discretionary. If one is unable to do these three, then one moves to fasting for three days. Consecutive fasting is not a condition according to many scholars, while some consider the immediate offering of expiation obligatory. This is coupled with a warning against masturbation, as it is forbidden.
