Is it permissible to attack and shut down a personal website that publishes content slandering a chaste girl, after warning the website owner with Qur'anic verses and Prophetic traditions to no avail?
Allah Almighty has warned against slandering chaste, believing, unsuspecting women, considering it one of the grave, destructive sins. The proof for this is His saying, "And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept their testimony ever, for those are the defiantly disobedient - Except for those who repent thereafter and reform, for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." And the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "Avoid the seven destructive sins..." and among them he mentioned: "slandering chaste, believing, unsuspecting women." What the website owner is doing by violating the honor of a righteous girl is an abomination that must be changed by hand for whoever is able.
