Do devils eavesdrop, and is that related to the occasional accuracy of horoscope predictions?
The devils eavesdrop from the heavens and convey the word to those beneath them until it reaches the sorcerer or diviner. A meteor may strike them before they can relay it. People may believe that one false word along with a hundred other lies. What is mentioned about horoscopes might be from eavesdropping or from people's conjectures. The Sharia has forbidden believing or resorting to diviners or soothsayers. Whoever believes a diviner in what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad. And whoever goes to a soothsayer and asks him about something, his prayer will not be accepted for forty nights. Quoting astrology is considered quoting a branch of sorcery. The forbidden astrology is what its practitioners claim of knowing future events, a knowledge God has reserved for Himself alone. Horoscopes are forbidden because they involve believing in divination and undermine monotheism. Reliance must be placed on God alone.
