For how many days is it permissible for a traveler to shorten the prayer if he travels within his country?

Allah loves that His dispensations be utilized, and one of them is the shortening of prayer for the traveler. It is permissible to shorten the four-rak'ah prayers if the distance is 83 kilometers or more. This shortening continues as long as you have not returned to your homeland or intended to reside for four days or more.
