What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a sister who suffers from epilepsy and occasional fainting, which causes her to delay prayers and combine them, and will she be punished for that?
If a woman misses one or two prayers due to unconsciousness, she must make them up, likening it to sleep. However, if she misses more than that, she is not required to make them up. If she regains consciousness while still weak, she must perform the prayer to the best of her ability and is not permitted to delay it. She is allowed to combine prayers. As for prayers delayed due to sleep, she must make them up, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If any of you forgets a prayer or sleeps through it, let him pray it when he remembers it."
