My daughter, 28 years old, went to the المصيف (summer resort), and we were delaying the prayers to combine them later due to our presence at the beach. She did not pray for 6 days, and upon our return, the car overturned and she died. I ask: Will we be held accountable for delaying the prayers? Can I pray on her behalf? And was the accident due to delaying the prayers?

A Muslim must perform prayer at its prescribed time if the time is known with certainty or through diligent effort leading to a strong presumption. It is forbidden to delay it without a legitimate Shar'i excuse. If a mistake occurred due to ignorance, you must seek Allah's forgiveness and make up the missed prayers. It is not permissible to make up prayers on behalf of your daughter, but you can supplicate for her and give charity on her behalf. The mother is responsible for causing her daughter to abandon prayer. The accident may be a punishment for this sin or for other reasons. And Allah knows best.
