What is the ruling on purchasing leftover food from a bakery via an application, without knowing the specific contents of the bag, and is this considered gharar (excessive uncertainty)?

If the buying and selling occur without the buyer knowing the quantity and type of food in the bag, then the sale is invalid due to the presence of jahaala (ignorance) and gharar (uncertainty). One of the conditions for a valid sale is knowledge of the item being sold. If the item being sold or the price is unknown in a way that leads to dispute, the sale is void. However, if the sale takes place after knowing the quantity and type of food in the bag, and what preceded it was merely a non-binding reservation, then the sale is valid at that point.
