Does the anesthesia that nullifies ablution refer to general anesthesia which removes consciousness, or does it include local anesthesia?

That which nullifies ablution is the loss of intellect, whether its loss is due to a permissible cause, such as taking medicine, or an impermissible one, such as intoxication, or due to insanity or unconsciousness. Ibn Qudamah transmitted the consensus on this matter. So, if intellect is lost, ablution is nullified. However, if intellect remains and is not lost, ablution is not nullified, even if some limbs become numb.
