Is it sufficient for the ‘aqīqah of sons to be on behalf of themselves, their fathers, and their wives? Is it permissible to share one cow with the intention of ‘aqīqah for all family members? And is it permissible for the intention of ‘aqīqah to overlap with that of udhiyah (sacrificial offering)?

"An aqeeqah with a cow for seven people is considered sufficient by some scholars, such as the Shafi'is. Based on this, slaughtering a cow for the aforementioned family would be sufficient. The aqeeqah is a confirmed Sunnah according to the majority of scholars. If the father does not perform the aqeeqah for his child until the child reaches puberty, the obligation of the aqeeqah for the father lapses. After reaching puberty, the child may perform the aqeeqah for themselves, but it is not obligatory upon them."
