Is the manner in which hearts are turned between two of the Fingers of the Most Merciful to be understood literally, or is it metaphorical, while still believing in the attribute of Fingers for Allah Almighty?

The hearts of all human beings are between two of the fingers of the Most Merciful, He turns them as He wills. These fingers are an established attribute of Allah, affirmed by the Ahl al-Sunnah, and we believe in them as they have come, without كيف (asking how) or تحريف (distortion), and we entrust the knowledge of their modality to Allah. The "betweenness" mentioned in the hadith does not necessitate contact. The servant should implore his Lord to keep his heart firm upon the religion and guidance, and fear deviation for himself.
