Is it true that whoever says "La ilaha illa Allah" as their last words will not be tormented in their grave? Is a fatal illness in old age considered a good ending? Do memory loss, forgetfulness, and continuous impurity exempt one from prayer and religious duties? And how does fasting benefit the deceased as a charity?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever dies knowing that there is no god but Allah will enter Paradise." And similarly, whoever testifies that there is no god but Allah, Allah will forbid him from the Fire. This means that a monotheist will enter Paradise even if he is punished for his sins. The doctrine of the Ahl al-Sunnah (definition) wal-Jama'ah (Sunnis) is that those who die upon monotheism, even if they have committed sins, are subject to Allah's will. If they are punished, they will ultimately enter Paradise.
