Did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, divorce Hafsa and then take her back, and what was the duration of this divorce?

The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, divorced Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, for only one day, then he took her back after Gabriel commanded him to do so, because she was a frequent keeper of fasts and a frequent performer of night prayers, and because she was his wife in Paradise, and out of mercy for Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him.
