Is it permissible to visit graves and speak with the dead?

Visiting graves for women is permissible, though disliked. As for addressing the deceased, the preponderant opinion is that the deceased hears in a general sense, but not always. Therefore, there is no point in addressing the deceased in this manner, for the life of the barzakh (interim period between death and resurrection) is different from our life, and there is a concern that this could lead to excessive grief and discontentment.
