Is the bewitched person sinful for being bewitched due to his distance from God, and is his bewitchment considered an additional sin for him?

A person afflicted by magic is not sinful because of it; rather, their tribulation might be an expiation for their sins. As for their past transgressions and distance from Allah, these are sins from which repentance is obligatory.
