Is it permissible for a woman to seek divorce and resort to the court to expose her husband's bad deeds, while wishing not to disgrace him, after she discovered his engagement in immoral acts and his family's denial of it and their refusal to divorce her?

This is a great calamity, for the husband has turned away from what is lawful and become defiled by what is impure, and the calamity is compounded by his father's zealous support for him. The actions of this husband cause anxiety and sorrow, darken the face, oppress the chest, and extinguish the light of the heart. It is permissible for the wife to seek a divorce from this husband, because he is not trustworthy regarding her, her religion, or her honor, and there is a fear that he may bring her harm and diseases. If he does not divorce her, she should refer her case to the Sharia (definition) judge.
