What is the difference between the Kursi and the 'Arsh?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Kursi (Footstool) is the place of the Almighty Rahman's (Most Merciful) feet. It is part of the 'Arsh (Throne), which is the greatest and most expansive of all creations. The 'Arsh has pillars and is carried by great angels, and Allah the Almighty ascended upon it in a manner befitting His Majesty. The 'Arsh and the Kursi should not be confused, for the 'Arsh is greater and larger than the Kursi. The 'Arsh is not dominion, nor is the Kursi knowledge; rather, the Kursi is the place of the feet, and the 'Arsh is another thing of immense grandeur.
