Is the fatwa attributed to Sheikh Ibn Baz – may Allah have mercy on him – regarding the authenticity of the ruling that whoever mocks the beard of a righteous man by saying: “Look at his beard, it’s like a goat’s beard,” exits the fold of Islam and must perform ghusl and utter the Shahada as if entering Islam, authentic?

We have not come across this fatwa (definition) by the Sheikh, but if it is authentic, then it is certain that he meant that a woman commits an act of disbelief (kufr) if she intends to mock the religion. This is supported by what he explicitly stated in his fatwas, where he differentiated between mocking the religion with the intention of ridiculing it, which is apostasy and disbelief (kufr), and mocking a person for other reasons, which is a sin and not disbelief (kufr). Even if one says this as a joke, it is impermissible and an evil, and entails danger.
