Is it permissible to supplicate for an actor who has passed away, give charity on his behalf, and dedicate the reward of reciting the Qur’an to him, despite not knowing whether he repented from the sins he committed and openly declared?

Whoever dedicates the reward of an act of devotion to one of the deceased Muslims, that will benefit them. It is permissible to dedicate the reward of charity and the like to one who died upon Islam, even if they were disobedient, because of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying to Amr ibn al-Aas: "As for your father: if he had affirmed monotheism, and you fasted and gave charity on his behalf, that would have benefited him."
