Is it permissible for a woman who has repented from usurious bank dealings to dispose of the interest money by giving it to her children who are about to marry or are university students, or by helping her husband pay accumulated taxes when he is capable of spending?

Repentance for one who has acquired usurious money is not complete until the usurious gains are disposed of by spending them on the general welfare of Muslims, such as orphanages and hospitals, or by giving them to the poor and needy. It is permissible for him to take from it what he needs if he is poor, or to give from it to his relatives if they are poor. However, if he is able to spend on himself and those he supports, and is not in need of this money, then it is not permissible to give the usurious gains to them.
