The emission of semen does not invalidate the fast if it occurs through a wet dream or thought. However, it does invalidate it if it occurs through masturbation, touching, or kissing. If the fast is invalidated by the emission of semen, then repentance and making up that day are required, without expiation. As for someone who invalidates their fast out of ignorance that their action is a fast-breaker, their fast is not invalidated, according to the preponderant opinion.
