What is the ruling on using the mosque as a pulpit for general matters with a hidden agenda?

The mosque's primary functions are prayer, recitation of the Quran, remembrance of Allah, and teaching people what benefits them in their religion and their worldly life. The Prophet's Mosque (peace be upon him) also served as a dwelling for some Muslims, a place for receiving delegations, a starting point for Islamic politics, and a place for consultation. There is no harm in using the mosque for legitimate public matters, provided it is kept free from disputes, discord, and anything that contravenes Islamic law.
