Is it permissible for a father to pray in congregation at home with his family instead of going to the mosque, in consideration of guests they have or who are visiting them, in application of the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest"?
One should be diligent in performing congregational prayer in the mosque due to its great virtue and to avoid the difference of opinion of those who made it obligatory to perform it in the mosque. If that is not possible or entails hardship, then it is permissible to perform it anywhere else, and by doing so, one only misses the virtue of praying in the mosque.
