How can a worshiper praying alone in the second rak'ah switch to being an Imam for another worshiper who has joined him in prayer, and what should a sister praying alone do if her brother joins her in prayer in the second rak'ah? Should she raise her voice with the takbir and recitation in silent and audible prayers, respectively? And how should she act as an Imam if the prayer is silent or audible? And what if the sister joins while I am the Imam?

Congregational prayer for women is permissible. To attain the reward of congregational prayer, the follower (ma'mum) must intend to follow the imam and pronounce the takbirat al-ihram (opening takbir). This is by agreement of the jurists. As for the imamate, the majority of jurists hold that intending the imamate is not a condition for the validity of congregational prayer, but it is recommended for the imam to intend it. It is permissible for a woman to raise her voice in recitation and takbir if there are no non-mahram men present.
