Is it permissible to work for an institution that lends to young people, given that it does not deal with banks?
If the institution you work for lends money to youth and others with interest, and your work is in the field of usurious lending, then your work is impermissible. This is because lending with interest is forbidden by Islamic law, and your work in this field inevitably involves writing down usury, witnessing it, or assisting with it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) "cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who pays it, the one who writes it, and its two witnesses, and he said: 'They are all equal (in sin).'" However, if you are not working in the field of usurious lending, then there is no objection to working for that institution.
