Which is better as an expiation for accidental killing: fasting or feeding, and when must this expiation be performed?

The expiation for unintentional killing is in order: freeing a slave. If one is not found or he cannot afford their price, then he must fast for two consecutive months. Feeding sixty poor people as expiation for unintentional killing is not mentioned in Islamic law. This expiation is required immediately.
