Is expiation by the freeing of a slave, or by fasting for two consecutive months, required for each person, in the event of causing the death of five people in a car accident, even if they were one's own children?

The expiation for accidental killing is established by religious texts, and it is a right of Allah Almighty that is not waived by the deceased's kinship. Expiation is obligatory for each deceased person. It consists of: freeing a slave, and if one is not found, then fasting for two consecutive months. It is permissible to fast the months separately, so you may fast two consecutive months, then make a break between them and the next two months, and so on. Your work and residence are not considered an excuse for not fasting unless there is extreme and continuous hardship, or you are suffering from a chronic illness that prevents you from fasting. In this case, scholars have differed: Is it obligatory for you to perform an alternative to fasting or not?

The first opinion: Fasting remains an obligation upon you, and nothing else is required. The second opinion: It is obligatory to feed sixty poor persons for each expiation.

The majority of scholars adopted the first opinion.
