What is the meaning of Allah's name, Al-Quddus?
Al-Quddus (the Holy, the Sacred) is the Blessed, the Pure, the Exalted above all impurity, and He is free from rivals, peers, companions, or offspring. He is described with perfection and is far removed from all defects and deficiencies, and from anyone approaching or resembling Him in perfection. Its meaning is purification and glorification. From this, the Holy Land (Al-Ard Al-Muqaddasah) was named due to its purity. And the angels' sanctification of Allah (taqdees) is their prayer, glorification, exaltation, magnification, and obedience, which purifies Him from what the people of disbelief attribute to Him.
