And does seeking forgiveness erase sins, even with a return to disobedience, by saying "Subhan Allah wa bihamdih" (Glorified is Allah and praised be He)?

It has been previously stated that watching TV series that contain prohibitions is forbidden, and that listening to music is not a major sin in itself, except depending on the individual's situation. No specific punishment has been mentioned for watching TV series and listening to music, and the pouring of molten lead into the ears is mentioned in a fabricated hadith. As for the testimony of someone addicted to listening (to music), it is not accepted, due to their failure to meet the conditions of uprightness, which include avoiding both major and minor sins. However, the testimony of someone who is not addicted is accepted if they are upright. Seeking forgiveness (istighfar) with remorse and the sincere intention not to return to the sin erases it, even if one returns to it later. However, merely seeking forgiveness with the tongue while persisting in the sin does not erase it and is not considered an accepted repentance.
