Is the man or the woman considered sinful if the fiancée insisted on establishing a sexual relationship and succeeded in doing so despite the man's unwillingness?

If a woman is merely engaged and the marriage contract (aqd) has not been concluded, she is still a stranger to her fiancé. It is not permissible for him to do with her what is permissible for a husband with his wife. If the fiancé proceeds to respond to the fiancée's request for a sexual relationship, both of them are sinful. Her request and insistence do not absolve him of sin, because he did so by his own choice. Attention must be paid to the seriousness of leniency in interaction between engaged couples. The fiancée is a stranger to the fiancé until the contract is concluded. It is not permissible for the fiancé to speak with her or contact her except to the extent permitted by Islamic law, as phone calls between them often involve impermissible lust or pleasure.
