Is ablution a condition for Sa'i between Safa and Marwah?

Ablution is not a prerequisite for Sa'i (the ritual circumambulation) between Safa and Marwa according to the majority of scholars; only purification is recommended. Thus, the Sa'i is valid even if the one performing it is in a state of minor impurity (hadath), major impurity (junub), menstruation (ha'id), or post-natal bleeding (nifas), based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "Perform all the rituals of Hajj, except for circumambulating the Kaaba."
