Is allowing children to visit their maternal uncles considered disobedience to parents and earning their displeasure, especially after a previous dispute?

Obedience to parents is not obligatory if they command a sin, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them." There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Breaking ties of kinship is a sin. Therefore, if they command you to break ties of kinship, their obedience is not obligatory, and you will not be considered disobedient by letting your children go to their mother's family.
