Is it permissible for a Muslim to adopt a daily litany of supplications and remembrances that are authentically transmitted, in a known number, with the aim of spending more time in the mosque and increasing worship? Is there any sin upon him for doing so, and what is the legitimate proof for or against this?

It is recommended to increase the remembrance of Allah Almighty. Two types of remembrances have been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: one is restricted to a specific number, which must be adhered to, and the other is not restricted to a specific number, so it is performed absolutely. The basic principle concerning remembrances is strict adherence to what has been transmitted [from divine texts], so it is not permissible to restrict them to a specific time, number, place, or manner unless it has been prescribed by the Divine Law.
